Job Summary
The Lawn Care Specialist (Lawn Care Consultant) is our company's front line. You will be the customer's “lawn care guy or gal”. Your purpose is to ensure that proper lawn, tree, and pest applications are applied in a timely and safe manner. Our customers' expectations are a green, weed-free lawn, and you will be the front line in helping achieve those outcomes. You will consult with and educate the customer on what they should be doing culturally, making recommendations to help them achieve their desired goals. Educating and communicating are just as important as the applications themselves. You will become well respected for your knowledge and execution. This position utilizes skills and experience learned in landscaping and mowing. Understanding the needs of the lawn and landscape, you will also sell any necessary services they may need. You will do this while being part of a team and working independently.
Responsibilities
Develop the knowledge and skills to make appropriate lawn and tree care application services, diagnose lawn and tree problems, properly perform sales estimates, be proficient in communicating the selling points of all Spring‐Green Services, and effectively communicate the benefits to the customer. Provide a high level of service to the customer by performing service calls and assigned estimates on a priority basis. Effectively communicate with the customer in a friendly and professional manner. Train to obtain and maintain all required pesticide licenses, become familiar with product labels and SDS, and accurately mix approved lawn or tree materials. Perform professional service applications as outlined in your training and in The Spring‐Green Way.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Landscaping, Mowing, and Spraying experience is a plus
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and follow GPS directions to find job site locations
Must be at least 18 years old and be insurable
Must pass a criminal background check, as well as MVR requirements
Ability to work Monday through Friday and Saturday as required
Be self-motivated to work independently
Must enjoy working outdoors and be able to work in temperature ranges from the teens
to over 90 degrees and in varying weather conditions
Must be able to lift 50-pound bags of fertilizer, load, unload, push, lift, and guide the rotary spreader with a total weight of 80-100 pounds, and maneuver a 400-foot spray hose
Ability to follow driving directions and familiarity with the assigned service area are a plus
