What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Analyst Import/Export position at DAC Vision?
Position Overview:
Under the general direction of the Sr. Director of Operations, the responsibilities of this role are to ensure all imports and exports meet and follow federal rules and regulation requirements. As a part of the Operations team, you will work collaboratively with all other DAC leaders to improve logistics and compliance processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Manage all international inbound and outbound shipping activities in support of operations, including but not limited to security, compliance, negotiating rate contracts with freight carriers, claims, returns, bill coding, audits, and invoicing.
- Ensure all import and export activities adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
- Review, code and approve transactions, classify products for tariff purposes, and manage required documentation.
- Provide guidance and training to team on trade compliance.
- Create and implement policies and procedures to streamline customs processes.
- Maintain records of invoices, shipping documents and clearance documents, certificates of origin, Lacey, and TSCA, plus supporting evidence.
- Monitor evolving international trade and customs regulations and update the tariff databases, report and communicate the potential impact.
- Support team in preparing Broker forwarding paperwork for all international shipments including custom documents and customer requirements.
- Maintain UMCA and KAFTA’s. Audit FTA and ensure due diligence checks are completed.
- Maintain technical specifications and verify the HTSUS and a tariff/schedule B database, relay to supporting department and ensure accuracy of use.
- Verify export licensing requirements and ensure AES filings are completed accurately and timely.
- Complete denied party screening and maintain recordkeeping.
- Approve freight bookings by mode of transport.
- Manage the ACE portal.
- Manage the clearance delay investigation and respond timely to requests for information.
- Obtain export AWB/ Ocean Bill of Lading’s and direct these to the customers.
- Trace inbound/outbound shipments, provide POD’s and reroute shipments as needed.
- Maintain accurate records for international and domestic CO2 Emissions report and audits as necessary.
- Performance of other duties as assigned by manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 - 3 years of experience in domestic and international freight handling/imports and exports.
- Certified Customs Specialist Certification preferred.
- Broker License Preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
