Job Title: Jr. Mechanical Engineer
Job Description:
- Understand and refine the project scope and generate ideas evaluating pros & cons for each idea including ability to scale-up into manufacturing ensuring quality and stable supply chain.
- Sketch ideas by hand or digitally including diagrams to communicate your ideas and create logic & I/O process flows for the execution of an electro-mechanical device.
- Develop the prototyping strategy, the unknowns that will be resolved, and ensure that the scale up manufacturing strategy is established.
- Create presentations based on your concepts and supporting evidence to present to the team of engineers to further develop the concept based on project scope, solutions, and strategy of prototyping & scale-up manufacturing.
- Model the concept in 3D CAD software, create assemblies with motion/FEA analysis, create drawings with tolerances/critical dimensions and quality requirements.
- Create necessary documents like DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), tolerance drawings with GD&T & ASME codes and standards, packaging specs, RfQ documents to vendors, cost modeling analysis, etc.
- Set-up and operate a 3D Printer, CNC, and utilize standard bench-top tools to create and construct the prototypes.
- Utilize PLC’s with sensors, actuators, UI, etc. to create a prototype electro-mechanical device.
- Reports to the Lead Engineer who is responsible for the entirety of the project execution.

- Curios to learn more, active learner, and staying informed on the latest technologies.
- Microsoft Suite: PPT, Outlook, Teams, Tasks, Word, Excel
- 3D CAD: Intermediate.
- General understanding of material science of polymers, elastomers, metallurgy, and organic/composite textiles with their corresponding manufacturing methods.
- General understanding of manufacturing methods: 3D Printing, CNC, Injection Molding, Thermoforming, Sheet metal forming, Metal Injection Molding, Heat staking, Laser Welding, Adhesives, and other various assembling methods
- General understanding of engineering concepts: Design for Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Computer Coding (C , Python, etc.)
Qualifications
- Pursuing or completing an engineering focused career path in mechanical, electro-mechanical, mechatronics, robotics, or similar discipline.

- Da Vinci Prime has a facility in Atlanta, GA where majority of the prototype constructions will be completed
