Job Summary

At DA Engineering, we believe great engineering is about more than technical design. It's about serving clients well, supporting teammates, and delivering thoughtful solutions that make every project successful.

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with 5–10 years of consulting engineering experience who is ready to take ownership of projects while continuing to grow as a technical and client leader.

In this role, you'll lead the electrical design for a variety of commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, hospitality, multifamily, and mixed-use projects from concept through construction. You'll collaborate closely with architects, owners, and our mechanical engineering team to produce practical, coordinated, and high-quality designs.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, communicates clearly, enjoys mentoring younger staff, and takes pride in delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design and coordination for building projects from kickoff through construction administration.
  • Prepare and oversee construction documents, calculations, specifications, and engineering reports.
  • Coordinate directly with architects, owners, contractors, and internal design teams.
  • Perform quality reviews to ensure accurate, coordinated, and code-compliant documents.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers while helping elevate the technical capabilities of the team.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and technical decision-making.
  • Respond to RFIs, review submittals, perform site observations, and support projects during construction.
  • Build long-term relationships through responsive communication and dependable service.

Prerequisites and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain shortly.
  • 5–10 years of experience designing building electrical systems in an MEP consulting environment.
  • Experience with power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable building codes.
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematic design standards; ability to produce clear technical documentation for manufacturing and testing purposes.

The right person doesn't simply complete drawings—they become a trusted advisor to clients, a dependable teammate, and a mentor to those around them. They take ownership of their work, communicate proactively, and consistently look for ways to improve both projects and processes. We're intentionally building a company where great people enjoy coming to work. At DA Engineering, you'll have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, continue developing your technical expertise, mentor future engineers, and help shape the future of a growing firm that values relationships just as much as engineering excellence.
