What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Electrician - Generator & Power Systems position at D2B Groups?
Our client, an established and growing power generation service company, is looking for a Master Electrician to join its field team. This is a chance to put your unrestricted license to work in one of the most stable, in-demand corners of the electrical trade: keeping standby and prime power running for hospitals, data centers, utilities, and the businesses that can't afford to go dark.
Generator experience is a strong plus, but it isn't a dealbreaker. If you're a licensed Master Electrician with solid commercial or industrial experience and an interest in power systems, the company will invest in training you on the generator side. The license is the one thing that can't be flexed.
What You'll Do
• Handle electrical installation, integration, and troubleshooting for generators, automatic transfer switches, and switchgear.
• Lead system startups and commissioning, and walk customers through how their equipment operates.
• Diagnose and repair generator systems, including engines, alternators, and controls (training provided as needed).
• Lead planned maintenance projects and make sure work meets OEM and company standards.
• Mentor and support other technicians, and serve as the go-to resource on electrical questions.
• Coordinate with scheduling, dispatch, and parts to keep jobs moving.
• Represent the company on site, building trust and repeat business with customers.
• Enforce OSHA and NFPA safety standards on every jobsite.
Required
• Class II (Unrestricted) Electrical Contractor License.
• Solid commercial and/or industrial electrical experience.
• Valid driver's license, able to meet DOT requirements, and willing to travel regionally.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with customers.
Preferred
• Experience with generators, automatic transfer switches, or switchgear.
• Background in standby or prime power, critical facilities, or mission-critical environments.
• Experience mentoring or leading other electricians or technicians.
• Top-of-market pay: $35 – $50 per hour, with your license and experience recognized from day one.
• Fully paid company benefits: Your coverage is paid by the company, not out of your check.
• Company vehicle: A company truck for field work, so the miles are on them, not you.
• Strong retirement plan: A program built to help you secure what comes after the field.
• A specialty that's in demand: Generator and backup power expertise is one of the most sought-after skill sets in the trade, and it keeps growing.
• Room to grow: A clear path into field leadership, training, and supervisory roles as the company expands.
• A people-first culture: Leadership that runs on integrity, honesty, and taking care of its team.
Salary : $35 - $50
