Drop Bury Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Drop Bury Helper to join our fiber optic installation team. In this hands-on role, you will assist experienced technicians with burying fiber optic drop cables from pedestals or utility points to residential and commercial customer locations. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity in the growing telecommunications industry, with on-the-job training provided for the right candidate. Responsibilities

• Assist with trenching, boring, plowing, or hand digging narrow trenches to install and bury low voltage fiber optic cables.
• Help place and secure fiber cables in conduit or directly bury, following safety guidelines and job specifications.
• Support site preparation, including locating/marking existing underground utilities.
• Perform site restoration: backfill trenches, replace sod/grass, clean up debris, and leave properties in original or better condition.
• Load/unload tools, equipment, and materials from company vehicles.
• Interact professionally with customers/homeowners on job sites—explain basic work being done, answer simple questions, and maintain a courteous, respectful demeanor.
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and equipment operation.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions and adapt to different job sites daily.

Requirements

• Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and other construction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Able to perform manual labor: dig/trench and work in all weather.
• Willingness to learn quickly, adapt to new tasks/tools, and take direction from lead technician.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
