About the Role
As the General Manager of D1 Training Lakeland, you’ll be the driving force behind our facility’s
success — leading operations, sales, and team development from the pre-opening phase through full operations.
This is not a desk job. It’s a leadership mission.
You’ll be recruiting a team, generating community excitement, closing memberships before the
doors open, and setting the tone for a culture that blends accountability, teamwork, and fun.
In short — you’ll be the face, heart, and energy of D1 Lakeland.
What You’ll Do
Before Opening (Pre-Sales & Launch Phase)
Lead all pre-sales efforts: build local relationships, drive leads, and close memberships with
confidence and enthusiasm.
Represent D1 Lakeland in the community — at schools, sports programs, and local
businesses — as the local ambassador of the D1 brand.
Recruit, hire, and onboard a high-performing team aligned with D1’s mission and values.
Build early culture: model discipline, teamwork, and positivity from day one.
After Opening (Operations; Leadership Phase)
Lead and inspire your staff to deliver an elite training experience that lives up to the D1
brand.
Grow member numbers by closing memberships with confidence and enthusiasm
Facilitate weekly meetings and coach employees to ensure clarity, accountability, and
continuous improvement.
Manage financial performance and accountability; meet monthly with ownership to
review key metrics and drive profitability.
Maintain a world-class facility and a culture where athletes of all ages feel challenged,
supported, and inspired.
Be a visible, engaged leader — on the floor, in the office, and in the community.
What We’re Looking For
Proven leadership experience (3 years) — in fitness, retail, military, or any team-driven
environment.
A passion for health, fitness, and personal growth. (Professional fitness background not
required, but enthusiasm is a must.)
Comfortable owning sales — you don’t hide from it, avoid it, or delegate it away. You may not
be a polished salesperson, but you are persistent, coachable, and willing to grind through
rejection while building authentic relationships that convert.
Strong business acumen: comfortable with budgets, KPIs, and accountability.
Energy, positivity, and resilience — you bring the standard every day with zero tolerance for
toxic behavior.
A “first-in, last-out” mindset with a servant-leader heart.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems under pressure — resourceful, adaptable, and willing
to figure things out without perfect information, excuses, or constant direction.
What You’ll Gain

performance-based bonuses and profit-sharing tied to membership and profitability goals.
Strong performance can bring total compensation to $80K and higher as the facility matures.
