Position Overview
The Summer Camp Coach is responsible for developing kids (athletes and non-athletes) by improving speed, strength, coordination, conditioning, and teamwork.
This role focuses on translating D1’s training philosophy into dynamic, goal focused and fun environment, helping kids gain a great foundation of strength, agility and sports performance in general.
Job Summary
Foster a high-energy, competitive, and motivating training environment- Improve speed, agility, explosiveness and strength while keeping it fun and dynamic
- Ensure all kids are performing exercises properly and prevent injuries
- Teach discipline, work ethic, and teamwork
Key Responsibilities
Lead summer camp classes Monday to Friday- Develop and implement strength, agility, speed and coordination programs
- Coach proper exercise form, keeping it challenging, safe and fun
- Incorporate drills focused on:
- Agility & reaction
- Power & explosiveness
- Conditioning
Strength & core engagement
Modify and adapt exercises based on age, skill level, and position
- Reduce injury risk through proper technique, mobility, and movement patterns
- Build strong relationships with kids/athletes and parents
Coaching Expectations
A D1 Summer Football Coach must:
- Bring high energy, passion, and leadership to every session
Start and finish sessions on time with structured programming - Teach proper technique and ensure athlete safety at all times
- Act as a mentor and role model for young athletes
- Deliver elite-level coaching in:
- Speed & agility
- Teamwork
Strength & conditioning
Qualifications
Valid AED/CPR/First Aid Certification- At least one NCCA-accredited certification (CSCS, NASM, etc.)
- Minimum 1 year of strength & conditioning coach
- Experience with youth athletes and kids (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field (preferred)
Ideal Candidate
Experience with kids and young athletes- Monday to Friday morning availability
- Passionate about developing athletes both physically and mentally
- Strong communicator with athletes, parents, and staff
