What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Technician position at D1 Networks?
Security & Networking Systems:
- Program and configure security system components, including:
- Video surveillance (IP cameras, NVRs/DVRs).
- Access control panels and devices (card readers, door controllers).
- Intrusion detection and alarm systems.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and SDN components.
- Integrate systems with Network Management Systems (NMS), telemetry platforms, and monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot programming, communication, and configuration issues in field devices and software.
OSP (Outside Plant) Fiber Optic Systems:
- Assist in the installation, splicing, and termination of OSP fiber optic cabling.
- Perform testing and certification of fiber optic cables using OTDR, light source, and power meter tools.
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic cable faults in the field.
- Conduct site surveys and document OSP fiber routes, pathways, and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with OSP fiber installation standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
General & Administrative Duties:
- Document all work performed, including materials used, test results, and system configurations.
- Maintain accurate service records, project documentation, and system diagrams.
- Provide remote technical support and guidance to field technicians and customers.
- Collaborate with project managers, field staff, and engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay informed on industry changes, new technologies, and emerging products, providing recommendations for improvements.
Work Environment:
- Frequent travel to telecommunications shelters, cell tower sites, and OSP fiber locations.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and varying work environments (indoor shelters, OSP pathways, rooftops, etc.).
- Must safely lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and follow strict PPE and safety protocols.
- Exposure to electrical and fiber optic hazards; adherence to safety procedures is mandatory.

Compensation & Incentives:
- Starting pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour (DOE and certifications)
- Per Diem: $120/ qualifying day Monday - Friday
