Dave Wheatley Enterprises, Inc. (DWE) is a defense contractor and an ISO-certified manufacturer of plastic injection molded parts located in Belcamp, Maryland. DWE offers services for consumer, commercial, electronics, medical, aerospace, defense, and other industries.
Job purpose
The Tooling Repair Technician will be responsible for cleaning, debugging, and repairing injection molding molds, as well as troubleshooting and repairing injection molding molds.
Duties and responsibilities
- Clean, debug, and repair plastic injection molds accurately
- Utilize tool room equipment appropriately and effectively
- Perform work on molds making tight tolerance parts
- Use and comprehend injection mold part and tool prints
- Maintain cleanliness of the tool shop and 5S/6S program
- Troubleshoot and repair injection molding molds
- Perform tool maintenance duties in accordance with DWE safety policies and procedures
- Document and maintain tooling records accurately
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Journeyman Tool Maker/Machinist preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience in injection molding tool maintenance and repair or tool making
- Close attention to detail
- Punctual with a high attendance rate
- Ability to follow directions

Working conditions
All work is performed in the injection mold shop/machine shop/manufacturing floor
Physical requirements
Requires standing, repeated reaching and twisting and hand movement throughout entire shift. Requires lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds. Requires mental and physical stamina and strength. Use of personal protection equipment (PPE) is often necessary.
