Registered Pharmacist One (1) PRN Position

Duties/skills: The Pharmacy Director is responsible for the management of the Pharmacy Department, the dispensing functions for inpatient and outpatient medications, and other programs sponsored by the Pharmacy Department.

The Pharmacist:
Manages personnel employed by the Hospital. Assigns areas of responsibility to the pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns, and all other personnel working within the Pharmacy Department.
Provides Pharmacy in-services, journals, and information concerning pharmacy seminars and meetings. Ensures the competence of all personnel working within the Pharmacy Department appropriate continuing education and competence evaluation. Disseminates drug information to health care professionals and patients.
Consults with other department directors, hospital administration, and other hospital personnel. Initiates appropriate action to correct problem areas and supervises interactions between Pharmacy personnel, hospital personnel, and the public.
Initiates and evaluates programs to be implemented by the Pharmacy Department.
Services on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Participates actively in the initiation, maintenance, and control of the Hospital formulary system.
Initiates and maintains inventory control procedures. Supervises maintenance of appropriate stock levels. Assigns personnel to process purchase orders, maintain inventory and purchasing records, monitor usage and dating of Pharmacy supplies and inventory, and maintains records for controlled substances.
Performs all other job related duties as assigned by the Hospital Administrator.

Qualifications:
Registered with the Alabama Board of Pharmacy required.
Licensed in the State of Alabama required.
Hospital experience preferred.

Salary negotiable depending on experience.
