Medical Office Asst.-Registration - DWM Medical Center The D W McMillan Medical Center has an opening for a full-time Medical Office Assistant. High School education or equivalent is required.
The job duties include, greet patients, create friendly helpful communication and interaction skills with patients.
Process all financial forms. (demographics, HIPPA, NPP, consent forms)
Obtain and verify patients information and update when needed (name, address, phone number, insurance, place of employment)
Collects co-payments/payments on accounts.
Provide patients with a receipt of their payments made.
Strong working knowledge or financial/billing in Cerner.
Performs check-in of all scheduled patient appointments.
Creates new patient accounts as needed.
Able to review and interpret insurance benefit information on the insurance website.
Balances all money personally collected daily.
Answer phones and direct patient inquiries as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Attends staff meetings as scheduled.
Provide patients with handouts informing them of updates and changes as available.
The candidate must be willing to work in a fast past environment, able to communicate clearly to physicians, patients, and multiple personnel in person and by phone. This person must function as a team member, have strong interpersonal skills, and able to multi-task. The job requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday on days.
All other duties/skills and qualifications will be discussed at time of interview.
