A day in the life


Step onto the production floor at D&W Fine Pack and kick off your shift by reviewing the day's changeovers. You'll verify lockout/tagout, don your PPE, and get stations ready for safe, efficient die and mold setups. From there, you'll prepare trim dies, set or remove molds and dies, make final adjustments, and document each setup. Throughout the shift, you'll guide Machine Operators through troubleshooting, check products against quality standards, and keep your area orderly. When issues arise, you'll diagnose processing problems, adjust parameters, and keep presses and tooling in top working order.

What you'll do

  • Perform basic setup and maintenance on tooling and equipment to support manufacturing.
  • Complete all required documentation for setups and die removal.
  • Carry out general maintenance on dies and presses; perform tool changes and final adjustments.
  • Prepare molds and trim dies; inspect/clean molds and return them to storage racks.
  • Coach Machine Operators when troubleshooting issues on the line.
  • Adhere to plant quality practices, including GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Set, insert, and remove molds and/or dies, ensuring proper fit and function.
  • Examine finished product to confirm it meets quality specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and correct processing problems to maintain uptime and yield.
  • Support Food Safety by complying with SQF standards, policies, and practices.
  • Maintain a neat, organized, and safe work area at all times.

Safety first

  • Follow all plant safety procedures and guidelines and wear required PPE.
  • Understand and apply Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Know emergency actions for power outages, machine failures, and workplace injuries.
  • Immediately report incidents and hazards; raise safety concerns to your supervisor.
  • Participate in safety improvement efforts such as hazard identification, safety suggestions, and safety teams.

What you bring

  • Willingness to work and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Forklift certification may be required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and related documentation.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency Certificate.

Work environment


Expect exposure to extreme heat, moving mechanical parts, and sharp-edged products. Hearing protection may be necessary as the environment is typically loud.

Pay and incentives

  • Starting Pay: $28 - $33 based on experience
  • Shift Differential: 3rd shift (10PM - 6:15AM) - $1.25
  • Sign-On Bonus: $1,250
  • Referral Bonus: $1,000
