Job Summary:
D & S Trucking & Heavy-Haul LLC is seeking a dependable and hardworking Material Handler to support daily logistics and heavy-haul operations. This role is responsible for handling, moving, and organizing materials and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and timely transportation activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, and move freight, materials, and equipment manually or using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other handling tools
- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, accuracy, and proper documentation
- Secure loads according to safety and company standards, especially for oversized or heavy-haul shipments
- Organize materials in yards, warehouses, or staging areas to support efficient operations
- Assist drivers and operations staff with equipment preparation and freight staging
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety procedures
- Report damaged materials, safety concerns, or inventory discrepancies to supervisors
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or in logistics/heavy haul operations is a plus
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs or more)
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Basic knowledge of load securement and material handling safety practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented work ethic
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.80 - $23.70 per hour
