Forklift Operator/Yard Jockey

D & S Supply Company is looking for reliable, hardworking individuals to join our busy yard and warehouse team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has some forklift or equipment experience and wants to learn more. You don't need to know everything on Day One—we are willing to train the right person who shows up, works hard, follows directions, and wants to learn.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Operate forklifts to load customer orders and unload incoming materials
• Pull, prepare, and stage customer orders
• Load trucks and assist customers with their purchases
• Operate skid steers, loaders, backhoes, and other equipment as trained
• Load production bins and restock materials
• Receive and check incoming orders
• Keep the yard, warehouse, trucks, and equipment clean and organized
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries
• Make local deliveries with dump trucks and flatbed trucks as qualified and directed
• Perform routine yard and facility tasks
• Follow all company safety rules and procedures
• Help wherever needed to keep the operation moving

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You don't have to know it all—we're looking for someone with the right attitude.

• Some forklift experience preferred
• Experience with skid steers, loaders, backhoes, or other equipment is a plus
• Valid driver's license required
• Reliable and dependable
• Must speak English but Spanish is a plus
• Willing to learn new equipment and skills
• Able to follow directions and work safely
• Able to work independently when needed
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather
• Strong attention to safety and keeping the work area clean

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is an active, hands-on position. The job requires the ability to:

• Lift up to 100 pounds
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push and pull
• Work around trucks, forklifts, heavy equipment, and building materials
• Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday

WORK SCHEDULE

Typical hours are:

Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Saturday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
