Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. This role requires a strong understanding of construction management principles and the ability to negotiate effectively with contractors and suppliers. The Project Estimator will play a critical role in supporting project management efforts and ensuring successful project delivery.
Duties
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Utilize software tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create detailed estimates and manage project data.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather additional information relevant to the estimating process.
- Prepare and present cost proposals to clients, negotiating terms as necessary to secure contracts.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process, implementing cost control measures as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, contracts, and changes in project scope or pricing.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques and methodologies.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with contractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Familiarity with construction management principles and practices.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets related to pricing, costs, and project requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in preparing estimates and reports.
- Experience in project management is a plus, enabling effective collaboration across teams.
