2nd Shift Hours: Monday through Thursday 3:15pm - 1:15am
With experience, make up to $25.54 per hour plus $2.00 shift differential for working 2nd shift.
Summary
Set up, adjust and operate CNC flame/plasma cutting machine and CNC Laser cutting machine to produce parts from sheet or plate stock in accordance to instructions. Set up, adjust and operate all sizes of rolls to perform a wide variety of forming and bending operations. Set up and operate various sizes and types of power saws to cut materials to required length or shape. Set up, adjust and operate beveling machines. May also perform miscellaneous fabrication duties.
Essential duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Work from drawings, cutting orders (programs), and specifications. Make simple adjustments to programs as authorized.
  • Select and change consumables as needed and make adjustments.
  • Perform daily maintenance functions as required.
  • Identify parts with correct shop and part number.
  • Work subject to first piece and final inspection. Use tape measure, square, templates, radii gauges as needed.
  • Perform subsequent operations as required, such as drilling, reaming, tapping, grinding, cleaning, deburring, etc., prior to releasing parts to the next operation.
  • Unloads trucks delivering raw material and visually verifies the receipt of product.
Laser Operation:
  • Load nest programs and assure proper cutting parameters for material
  • Mark remnant material appropriately
  • Select, install, and replace proper consumables as required
  • Assure nozzle centering, standoff calibration as required
  • Make minor changes to cutting parameters as material cutting conditions change, document those changes
Burn/Plasma Operation:
  • Set and align machine for cutting operation and use appropriate gasses.
  • Regulate flame and travel for type of material and job at hand. Select tips and adjust torches for number of pieces required.
  • Fix (weld repair and grind) all blowouts as required.
  • Cup up drop off as required. Remark material for identification and grain direction prior to returning to stock.
Roll Operation:
  • Adjust roll positions and control direction to form materials to proper radius and dimensions.
  • Determine sequence of multiple passes to make required bends on complicated sections.
Saw Operation:
  • Install saw blades, set stop gauges for length of cut, material feed mechanisms and saw speeds for type of materials.
  • Use templates to scribe outlines for contour cutting.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED, HSED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training preferred
