Job Summary
As an Associate Account Manager at D&S Communications, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of business clients, driving growth in telecommunications and network solutions sales, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. You will leverage your consultative selling skills and deep understanding of voice, data, VoIP, cloud-based and managed services to expand business relationships, identify new opportunities, and partner closely with internal technical and service teams to deliver on client expectations. A primary focus is on the inhouse wireless wi-fi repair business (Cisco 8821s, Spectralink 8440s and Ascom d62, i62, d63, & i63s) as well as our full-line of smartphone repairs and replacements (iPhones, Samsung, Zebra, etc.)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow existing accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for clients.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned territory or verticals (e.g., education, healthcare, manufacturing, government) aligned with the company’s service offerings.
- Conduct consultative needs assessments with clients to understand their voice/data/network requirements, budgets and pain points.
- Present and propose tailored solutions including hardware (telephones, switches, PBX/VoIP systems), network services, maintenance/repair, managed solutions, and carrier services. (Reflecting D&S’s product and service portfolio.) dscomm.com
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, service, operations, support) to ensure smooth implementation, deployment, and ongoing service.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline using CRM tools; forecast and report on sales metrics, revenue, margin and activity. The ability to develop in skills in employing Zoom Info and their CoPilot program.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms in line with company guidelines while ensuring profitability and customer value.
- Maintain strong client relationships, regularly reviewing customer satisfaction, service usage, and potential upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in the telecommunications/networking space.
- Attend trade shows, industry events and networking functions as required to generate leads and strengthen brand presence locally and regionally.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of sales/account management experience in a telecommunications, network solutions, or IT services environment.
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales quotas, managing strategic accounts and growing revenue in B2B settings.
- Strong understanding of voice/data communications technology: VoIP, PBX/UC systems, network infrastructure, hardware/repair services. (Experience with refurbished/maintenance business a plus, along with knowledge of Mitel MX-One and Zoom.)
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills; ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels (C-suite, operations, IT).
- Strong problem-solving skills, business acumen, and customer-first mindset.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Connectwise and Zoom Info) and sales tools; comfortable delivering accurate forecasts and reports.
- Willingness to travel nationally (client visits, trade shows) as needed.
- Self-motivated, organized, able to manage multiple clients/projects simultaneously and work both independently and as part of a team.

- Comfort with technical concepts and working alongside technical teams; ability to translate technical features into business value for clients.
