About the Role
D-Patrick is seeking a Human Resources Director to oversee daily HR operations, employee relations, compliance, and talent management across our organization. This role drives strategic HR initiatives, benefit administration, and regulatory compliance while maintaining a supportive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Leadership & Operations: Lead HR team members in executing weekly payroll (pay changes, new hires, terminations), onboarding/orientation, recruitment, background screenings, employee evaluations, and job fairs.
- Benefits & 401(k) Management: Direct annual benefits open enrollment, serve as vendor/broker contact, manage monthly enrollments, verify Form 5500 accuracy, and oversee 401(k) processing, audits, and compliance testing.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state/federal employment laws. Oversee FMLA, EEOC claim investigations, worker’s compensation claims, unemployment proceedings, personnel policy updates, and OSHA training/compliance.
- Employee Relations & Culture: Counsel managers on staff development, conduct internal investigations, guide policy interpretation, and coordinate employee recognition dinners, holiday events, and suite ticket distribution.
- Administration: Maintain accurate personnel files, update HR forms, and perform other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Experience: 10 years of related HR experience and/or training required (15 years preferred).
- Licensure/Certificate: Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record. PHR or SHRM or other industry certification has been earned or is currently being pursued.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, math, and clerical skills; basic computer literacy and working knowledge of office machinery.
- Attributes: Ethical, honest, dependable, team player with a professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to work with little to no supervision, read and comprehend instructions, and work weekends/overtime as needed.
- Physical & Environmental: Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs in a quiet to moderate office setting; punctual with satisfactory attendance.
