Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
• Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals
• Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines to ensure privacy and safety
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident rooms and common areas
• Implement care plans developed by healthcare teams, including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, and memory care strategies
• Document resident progress accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and assist with patient monitoring and record-keeping

Requirements

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of distress or health issues
• Certification in First Aid and CPR required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in caregiving duties
• Experience working with people with disabilities, developmental delays, dementia, or Alzheimer’s is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Valid driver’s license may be required for community outings or transportation duties

Pay: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour
