What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Manager position at D & N BENDING CORP?
The plant manager is responsible for overseeing the plant floor's production and day-to-day operations to ensure everything flows smoothly. The plant manager makes sure orders are filled in a timely fashion, quality is insured through out all parts, safety standards are followed, and a healthy work environment is fostered for all employees. Leadership is an essential function for a plant manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the manufacturing of various products ensuring that quantity and quality requirements are met
- May assist in interviewing new staff
- Training new staff
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
- Oversees the production quotas and schedules, ensuring inventory and shipment targets are met
- Collaborates with Materials Management to verify, review, and maintain a report on materials and production inventories
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Equivalent industry work experience required or; Associate’s degree in related field, Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
- At least three years of supervisory experience highly preferred
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
