Job Description
D'Leon Consulting Engineers is seeking a Project Controls Specialist in Las Vegas, NV.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software.
- Review contractor baseline schedules and monthly schedule updates for accuracy, logic, and compliance with contract requirements.
- Perform critical path analysis, schedule risk assessments, and identify potential delays or recovery opportunities.
- Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts throughout all phases of construction.
- Track cost performance, prepare cash flow forecasts, and support change management processes.
- Analyze schedule and cost variances and prepare recommendations for corrective actions.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and executive-level project performance reports, dashboards, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Support project planning, budgeting, forecasting, and earned value management activities where applicable.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, engineering teams, contractors, consultants, and clients regarding schedule, cost, and progress updates.
- Maintain project controls databases, logs, and reporting systems to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in reviewing change orders, claims, Requests for Information (RFIs), and contract modifications for schedule and cost impacts.
- Participate in project meetings and provide project controls updates, analysis, and recommendations.
- Maintain historical project data and lessons learned for future planning and benchmarking.
- Ensure compliance with client standards, contractual requirements, organizational policies, and industry best practices.
- Support project closeout activities, including final reporting, documentation, and archive of project controls records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3–10 years of experience in project controls, project management, construction management, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience supporting capital construction projects in transportation, aviation, public works, utilities, commercial, industrial, or vertical construction environments.
- Experience with scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and project performance reporting.
