Overview
Underground electrical utility construction company with a history of 48 years of providing electrical infrastructure to developers and utility companies throughout the state of Florida is hiring experienced Excavator Operators.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment ranging from mini-excavators to 30,000-lb excavators.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained throughout the project.
- Assist with construction activities including trenching, and material handling on active construction sites.
- Coordinate with team members to execute project plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate operation logs, equipment maintenance records, and safety documentation for all machinery used on-site.
- Support other construction operations such as truck driving and skid-steer loader operation.
- Follow all safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment for everyone on site.
Skills
- Proven experience operating excavators and heavy equipment like dozers, loaders, backhoes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues quickly and efficiently.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in operating construction-related vehicles.
- Construction site experience with familiarity in various construction activities.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT) machinery or similar brands is highly desirable.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and adhering to project timelines.
Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
