Welders & Fabricators- 1st Shift

D.L. George and Sons Manufacturing, a family owned and operated company, is seeking Welders & Fabricators for 1st Shift.

Welders & Fabricators Qualifications and Skills:

• 1 year experience with MIG welding carbon steel required
• Perform tasks involving physical labor for operation and set up of the various welding equipment
• Operate a variety of other equipment including, but not limited to; hand, power tools or other machinery
• Reads and works to drawing tolerances and may be responsible for inspection of their own work
• Keeps their work area safe and free of hazards.
• Must be certified to, or capable of certification under American Welding Society (AWS) certifications (by applicable weld type) as defined in AWS document AWS B5.17.2004 (as revised), or under American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) code Section IX (as revised) as applicable. Certification Records must be be maintained by the certified welder as applicable.

Welders & Fabricators Responsibilities and Duties:

• Follow directions and instructions of supervisory personnel
• Ability to complete required documentation when needed
• Start up, set up and prepare for welding operations, loading and unloading materials
• Perform operator level maintenance as needed, requisition replacement parts as needed
• Clean, dress and deburr weldments as needed
• Inspect pieces for proper specifications and completeness
• Sort finished jobs according to destination and routing (internal)
• Maintain and communicate finished jobs to supervisor
• Monitor welding related supplies and notify supervisors as they are needed
• Keep work area clean, organized and clear
• Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, overhead cranes or other material handling equipment when needed
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Welders & Fabricators Physical Requirements:

• Meet D.L. George & Sons medical, drug and alcohol qualifications
• Ability to operate in a machine/fabrication shop environment up to 10 hours per day, 40-50 hours per week
• Majority of work requires standing or walking, bending, stooping and minimal climbing
• Handle material weighing up to 50 pounds with minimal assistance
