Job Description
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing accounting, clerical, and financial service functions for the D.L. Evans Bank Processing Department. He or she assists branch personnel and Merchant Capture clients with item processing issues, ensures quality control through dispute accuracy and problem resolution, completes and submits the required documents through FedLine Advantage for check adjustments, and maintains files and records. The Customer Service Representative ensures that customer questions and requests are courteously and promptly resolved and assists coworkers when needed.

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED required
- Accurate and attentive to detail
- Able to get along well with coworkers
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as professional telephone etiquette
- Well organized with good typing skills
- Strong proofreading skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software products and strong ability to use and navigate the Internet
- Willing and able to assist coworkers with various tasks
- Performs a daily audit of ACH pre-notes, corrections, and returns and researches information necessary to balance or correct entries
- Sources NSF items and verifies that the NSF does not overdraw the account over $50,000 without permission
- Processes incoming and outgoing large item returns and notifies customer and/or branch personnel when appropriate
- Reviews all incoming checks $10,000.00 and over for signature and endorsement verification and ensures that irregular signatures and missing endorsement checks are returned through the proper channels
- Assists with the verification of incoming and outgoing wire transfers
- Exchanges foreign funds by check made out to bank customers and deposits appropriate funds into their accounts
- Locates and corrects outages for general ledger account on the Daily Application Report
- Ensures that the Certificate of Deposits over $100,000 are balanced accurately
- Processes Fed check adjustments accurately and timely through the FedLine Advantage system and makes appropriate adjustment entries to the General Ledger and customer accounts
- Assists with the weekly shipment and ordering of cash through the FedLine Advantage system
- Assists branch personnel with branch capture item processing issues
- Assists merchant capture clients with item processing issues
- Serves as a backup as needed for DDA, SAV, DDL, FMS, and non-posts
- Answers the telephone and fields or refers questions from customers, branch personnel, and management
- Helps other area personnel as required
- Keeps management informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns
