Job Description

The Credit Administration Specialist is responsible for providing in-depth support to the credit administration department including the Vice President Credit Administration Officer and the Vice President Credit Quality Manager. He or she develops spreadsheets, presentations, and completes required reports; reviews files, maintains tracking logs, and ensures documentation necessary for complete loan files is obtained, updated, complete, and accurate; follows up with lending officers to ensure documentation is received and loan files are complete; and assists agricultural inspector with compiling lists of all required agricultural inspections and follows up to ensure completion. The Credit Administration Specialist handles confidential material and serves as a loan analyst as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or at least three years of commercial lending experience that includes an understanding of loan documentation, lending regulations, financial statements, tax returns, cash flow analysis, financial ratios, and basic loan underwriting standards
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products; specifically Word and Excel
  • Extensive experience with macros, formulas, and pivot tables in Excel and mail merge in Word strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong analytical skills required

Responsibilities

  • Oversees completion of all required borrowing base certificates and notifies loan officers of any discrepancies in or any overdue borrowing bases and works with them to ensure that borrowing bases are accurate and complete
  • Tracks loan policy exceptions for reporting and proper approval; ensures that loan policy exceptions are aggregated and reported to the Senior Loan Committee and the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis (exceptions should be segmented by exception type, amount of credit exposure, geographic location, and loan officer); and prepares and maintains detailed reports for Credit Administration and Compliance if necessary
  • Prepares presentations and develops spreadsheets as needed
  • Monitors pending item reports, filters and disseminates report, and places follow-up calls to lenders and works with them to eliminate pending items
  • Monitors loan policies and procedures and prepares policy and procedure updates for submission to the Board for approval
  • Monitors Annual Term Loan Review and ensures completion and completes any related required reports
  • Compiles list of borrowers requiring inspections by the agriculture inspector and follows up to ensure the inspections are complete
  • Prepares the CRE Report and submits to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis
  • Monitors loan coding for accuracy and makes changes when needed
  • Cross trains as a loan analyst in order to assist when needed
  • Prepares loan packages for Senior Loan Committee when needed
  • Attends Senior Loan Committee meetings and prepares detailed meeting minutes when needed
  • Builds templates or transfers forms to a paperless process in Laserfische Forms or other appropriate software, works with assigned personnel to test the forms, and trains appropriate personnel regarding use of forms and any associated changes in the process
  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Assists in preparing loan officer training
  • Assists with communication of new and revised policies and procedures to appropriate lending personnel
  • Actively seeks feedback from loan officers and peers and identifies improvements to processes, forms, and procedures and communicates suggestions for improvement to department management
  • Tracks, reviews, and monitors Ag budget reconciliations and borrowing base certificates; works with lending personnel to remediate any deficiencies; and informs department management of any problems or issues identified
  • Oversees completion of all required Ag budget reconciliations; notifies loan officers of any discrepancies in or any overdue reconciliations; and works with them to ensure reconciliations are accurate and complete
  • Maintains the professional reputation of D.L. Evans Bank
  • Promotes D.L. Evans Bank at all times
  • Serves as a representative for D.L. Evans Bank in the community
  • Completes special projects as assigned
  • Attends assigned training sessions and stays current on new procedures and policies
