The R&D Developer is responsible for managing and executing beverage development projects from concept through commercialization within a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. This role supports the creation of new beverage concepts, formulation optimization, and customer-focused solutions while ensuring product quality, functionality, and cost-efficiency. Working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other R&D teams, the developer will support ingredient selection, prototype development, process improvements, and scale-up activities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical beverage formulation knowledge, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative setting. This role is based full-time at our Princeton Innovation Center
Your Responsibilities:
· Execute beverage R&D and innovation projects within approved budgets, supporting product development from concept through commercialization.
· Develop and optimize beverage formulations, raw materials, and production processes to improve product quality, functionality, and cost-efficiency.
· Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Quality, Sourcing, Technical Project Management, and Product Science teams to support customer and innovation initiatives.
· Plan and conduct shelf-life, stability, and product performance testing while implementing new technologies and process improvements into production.
· Maintain accurate recipe documentation, analytical specifications, and development records within internal systems, including SAP.
· Provide technical application support and ingredient recommendations for new and existing beverage solutions.
Salary Range - $85,000 – 95,000
The compensation range provided reflects the expected base compensation only and does not include potential bonuses, incentive plans, or benefits. An individual’s final compensation offer will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education level, relevant experience, training, and geographic location.
Your Profile:
· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific field required.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in food and beverage development, preferably within beverage formulation, applications, or product innovation environments.
· Experience working with SAP and maintaining technical documentation within internal systems preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
· Advanced degree or additional specialized education in Food Science or related field is a plus.
· Ability to travel up to 20% as needed to support customer projects, production trials, or business initiatives.
