D&G is seeking a Lessons Learned Specialist to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Joint Lessons Learned Program (JLLP) under DLA J352 in Richmond, VA. This role supports the collection, analysis, management, and dissemination of lessons learned data from DLA operations, exercises, and deployments across the enterprise.
This is a hands-on position requiring travel to exercises and field activities, direct engagement with military and civilian stakeholders, and the ability to operate independently in dynamic environments while producing analytical products that drive measurable operational improvement.

D&G is seeking a Lessons Learned Specialist to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Joint Lessons Learned Program (JLLP) under DLA J352 in Richmond, VA. This role supports the collection, analysis, management, and dissemination of lessons learned data from DLA operations, exercises, and deployments across the enterprise.

What You Will Do
- Collect, aggregate, analyze, curate, categorize, and disseminate lessons learned and observations from DLA operations, exercises, training events, and real-world deployments.
- Develop and execute collection plans using active and passive information collection methodologies.
- Conduct pre-deployment, mid-tour, and post-deployment interviews to capture personnel insights and observations.
- Apply statistical analysis and analytical tools, including AI-enabled methods, to validate findings, identify trends, and support data-driven recommendations.
- Participate in 3–4 Tier 1/Tier 2 exercises annually across CONUS and OCONUS locations, providing on-site JLLP training, data collection, and analytical support.
- Support 2 Joint Training Conferences (3–4 days each) and up to 10 site visits annually to DLA Major Subordinate Commands, Regional Commands, or Headquarters.
- Develop written analytical products including issue summaries, insights, solution recommendations, white papers, briefings, After-Action Reports (AARs), and quarterly newsletters.
- Manage DLA JLLIS accounts, including approval, deactivation, updates, and monthly reporting.
- Deliver JLLIS training and user support in both in-person and virtual environments.
- Support the DLA Joint Lessons Learned Working Group through agenda preparation, coordination, minutes, and reporting.
- Prepare observations for presentation in memos, quad charts, and executive briefing formats.
- Interface daily with DLA and non-DLA stakeholders to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Prepare and submit Monthly Status Reports documenting progress, issues, and planned activities.
- Collaborate with Joint Staff J-7, Services, Combatant Commands, and Combat Support Agencies on JLLP best practices.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in information management, management science, data science, computer science, engineering, operations research, mathematics, finance, logistics, or related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of Department of War (DOW) Supply Chain Management experience.
- Demonstrated logistics and/or management science experience in a DOW environment.
- Experience conducting data collection, statistical analysis, and technical report writing within DOW logistics operations.
- Familiarity with DOW and DLA supply chain operations, Supply Chain Integration (SCI), asset visibility capabilities, business process improvement efforts, and deployment collaboration tools.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to prepare structured, logically organized technical documents and executive briefings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
- Ability to collaborate across geographically dispersed military and civilian teams.
- Ability to travel 20–30% annually (CONUS and OCONUS), including multi-day events.
- Experience with the Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS).
- Prior experience supporting DLA Global Operations.
- Experience conducting DOTmLPF-P analysis and supporting change implementation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking, statistical analysis, data visualization, or AI-enabled analytical tools.
- Experience supporting Combatant Command OPLAN/CONPLAN development and deployment collaboration.
- Experience delivering briefings to senior military or civilian leadership.
- Knowledge of JLLP process phases: Discovery, Validation, Resolution, Evaluation, and Dissemination.
- Master’s degree in a related discipline.
- Current Active Secret clearance required to be considered.
- This role is restricted to U.S. citizens as defined under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
- Requires 20-30% travel. On site in Richmond, Virginia when not travelling.

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
