Job Overview
We seek a motivated, self-starter that knows CNC Swiss Type machining to help support continued growth. As a CNC Swiss Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating precision CNC Swiss machines. You will handle the entire process from setup and operations to quality controls, write/edit programs G-Code programs, load programs, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Job Description
- Set up and operate CNC Swiss Style machines (for example Citizen, Star)
- Manage the full machining process including operation, setups, tooling changes, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
- Plan CNC operation steps based on blueprints and technical drawings
- Write / Edit G-Code programs based on part specifications
- Setup CNC Swiss machine with tooling and loading of programs
- Prepare and load material for the jobs on the CNC machine
- Operate CNC Swiss machine and optimize to reduce cycle time , increase maximum efficiency, and improve performance
- Ensure parts meet print specifications and quality standards by performing continuous in-process inspections and verifying dimensions using precision measuring tools such as microscopes, micrometers, comparators, gage pins, thread gages, indicators, and calipers.
- Understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Drive problem-solving activities for complex machine or process issues.
- Assist with estimating and quoting new jobs
- Ensure proper material control, identification, and traceability for conforming and nonconforming materials.
- Maintain safe working conditions and follow occupational safety and health requirements, including PPE guidance.
Experience
- 5 years’ experience in CNC machine setup and operations
- 3 years’ experience in precision CNC Swiss machining, including writing programs
- 2 years' experience writing / editing G-Code programs
- Proven ability to work with tight tolerances on small-scale, high-precision parts
- Experience with mechanical measurement, GD&T and inspection tools
- Excellent attention to detail as well as strong written and oral communication skills.
