Human Capital Reporting Data & Operations Analyst Human Capital New York The D. E. Shaw group seeks a talented reporting operations analyst to join its Human Capital Analytics and Products (HCAP) team. Members of HCAP are curators of employee data and leverage it to help answer strategic and operational talent questions for leaders across the business. This role will focus on the technical and operational aspects of the team’s reporting infrastructure, supporting the maintenance and enhancement of key analytics tools, and offers the opportunity to work in a collegial and engaging environment, with the potential to take on more advanced analytics and data science projects over time. Home Who We Are What We Do How To Join News Library Contact What you’ll do day-to-day Maintain and update Python packages that underpin the team’s reporting and analytics capabilities, ensuring codebases remain robust and well-documented. Use Git and GitHub to manage code repositories, track changes, and facilitate collaborative development and code review processes. Be responsible for updating and optimizing SQL and GraphQL queries to support evolving business needs and deliver accurate, timely data. Help troubleshoot technical issues, contribute to process improvements, and support the ongoing evolution of the team’s reporting infrastructure. Conduct ad hoc analyses to address operational and strategic questions, collaborating closely with colleagues across human capital and related teams. Who we’re looking for A bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical, quantitative, or related field is required, along with one to three years of experience working with Python for code maintenance and SQL or GraphQL for data querying and transformation. Experience using Git and GitHub for version control, code collaboration, and code review processes. Demonstrated ability to manage operational tasks, troubleshoot technical issues, and deliver high-quality analyses in a fast-paced environment; the ability to handle confidential information with discretion is essential. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to problem solving are highly sought after. The expected annual base salary for this position is $125,000 to $150,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
