The Role: Low Voltage Technician
The successful Low Voltage Technician at D/E/F Services Group, Ltd is committed to expanding their expertise across multiple low-voltage systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and high-impact projects, performing installation, maintenance, and repair of systems such as data and telecommunications cabling, fiber optics, CCTV, CATV, access control, and security and fire alarm technologies.
You’ll collaborate closely with field teams and project supervisors, ensuring every installation meets our high standards for safety, performance, and reliability.

Essential Traits for Success
Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of low-voltage systems including data, voice, CCTV, CATV, fiber optics, access control, security, and fire alarm
Cut, terminate, and label cabling in jacks or terminals following established standards and best practices
Troubleshoot and repair defective security and telecom equipment, replacing or adjusting components as needed
Examine and secure connections, inspect insulation, and perform quality checks for compliance and safety
Strip, splice, and terminate wire ends using proper tools and techniques
Thread and secure conduit, cable trays, racks, j-hooks, and d-rings to support system infrastructure
Pull and route cables through ducts, conduits, and structural pathways per plan specifications
Maintain organized material handling, requisitions, and inventory control
Uphold safety standards and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and site partners
Qualifications & Skills
Licensing: Active Connecticut C6, L6, or T2 Limited Electrical Journeyperson License (required)
Experience: 3–5 years of experience working with low-voltage systems preferred
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Certifications: OSHA 10 Certification (preferred), valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
Proficient use of hand and power tools for installation and repair
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work from ladders, lifts, or confined areas as required
