We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and physically capable Commercial Mover to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with the relocation of office furniture, equipment, and supplies for businesses. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work in teams, and a high level of physical endurance to meet the demands of transporting commercial goods. The Commercial Mover will be expected to ensure that all items are packed, moved, and set up in their new locations safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
- Packing & Unpacking: Safely pack office furniture, electronics, files, and other commercial items for transport. Unpack and organize the items at the destination, ensuring proper placement and setup according to client specifications.
- Loading & Unloading: Load items onto moving dollies, bins, hand trucks and trucks using appropriate techniques to prevent damage. Ensure that all items are properly secured during transit. Unload items at the destination and assist with arranging them in the new space. Operate moving equipment (dollies, hand trucks, and other tools) safely and efficiently.
- Furniture Assembly & Disassembly: Assist with the disassembly of office furniture (e.g., desks, chairs, cubicles) and reassemble it as needed at the new location. Assist with office installations and setup when required.
- Transportation Coordination: Assist truck drivers in ensuring that items are transported efficiently and in compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely and safe delivery of items to the destination.
- Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with clients and their staff. Address any concerns or questions regarding the move in a polite and efficient manner.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of all items being moved, ensuring that nothing is lost or damaged. Complete an inventory checklist before and after the move to ensure all items are accounted for. Document damages and report to the on-site supervisor.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain moving equipment and vehicles in good working condition. Report any damages or issues promptly. Confirm all equipment gets properly loaded after compilation of the project.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques, vehicle safety measures, and site-specific safety regulations. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding moving operations. Wear proper safety gear.
- Site Cleanup: Ensure work areas are clean and free of debris after installation.
Required Experience:
- Experience in Moving or Logistics: At least 1-2 years of experience in a commercial or residential moving environment is preferred. Experience in office relocations or handling specialized equipment like computers and large furniture is a plus. But we will train the right candidate.
- Physical Stamina: Experience in physically demanding work is crucial. Candidates must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, including furniture and boxes, and handle the physical nature of the job.
- Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in customer-facing roles is desirable, as this position requires communication with clients before, during, and after the move.
- Safety Training: Knowledge of safe moving practices, lifting techniques, and equipment handling is beneficial. Certification in safety or materials handling is a plus.

- Physical Strength & Endurance: The ability to lift 50 pounds or more and work in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to handle fragile or expensive items carefully and ensure that everything is accounted for before and after the move.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team to ensure the move runs smoothly.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and coworkers.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly resolve issues that may arise during the moving process, such as unexpected obstacles or delays.
Working Conditions:
- Physical Demands: The role requires heavy lifting, bending, and the ability to move large and cumbersome items. Candidates should be comfortable with physical work and repetitive tasks.
- Work Environment: The position will involve working both indoors and outdoors, and candidates should be prepared to work in various weather conditions. The role may also require working long hours and some weekends based on move schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, trucks, and equipment.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or GED is preferred, though not mandatory. Additional certifications in safety or logistics may be beneficial, but are not required.
- Driver's License: A valid driver’s license (preferably with a clean driving record) is required if operating moving trucks or company vehicles.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
- Overtime pay for hours worked beyond standard work hours.
- Work Schedule - standard Monday - Friday, occasional weekends/evening shifts
- Travel - Travel to and from job sites, occasional meet up at a central location to carpool. Out-of-town jobs, lodging provided, and per diem.
