Job Description:
Clark Electric is seeking to hire an entry level Junior Electrical Estimator. We are in need of a hard-working individual who is self-motivated and can work within our preconstruction department to assist in the process of providing accurate and efficient cost estimates for both commercial and residential projects.
Responsibilities:
Activities include, but not limited to:
- Supports and works with the Electrical Estimator
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
- Prepares and sends specifications and BOMs to vendors and subcontractors for quotes
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Prepare estimates on multiple projects concurrently
- Understand scope of work to bid
- Use software for initial take offs, data analysis, forecasting and budgeting
- Assists with the preparation of special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data
- Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
- Participates in the preparation of construction schedule
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Qualifications:
• Electrical field and/or electrical estimating experience is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Applied Science, Engineering or related field is preferred
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and applicable Engineering programs.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
• Impeccable problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to analyze information
