D.C. United Marketing Internship Job Description
The D.C. United Marketing Team is seeking talented and hardworking undergraduate and/or graduate students who aspire to build a career in the professional sports industry to join us as Marketing Interns for the Spring 2026 season.
As a D.C. United Marketing Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across multiple facets of marketing—including event promotion, brand awareness, and fan engagement—while fulfilling your internship requirements. You will be part of a collaborative intern cohort that works on interdepartmental projects and develops real-world marketing skills designed to help launch your career in the industry.
This internship follows a hybrid schedule aligned with D.C. United’s full-time staff structure. In-person days are Tuesday through Thursday at the D.C. United office located at Audi Field in Washington, DC. The remaining days, excluding matchdays or events, are remote. The ability to work on-site for home matches and events is required to be considered for this position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Including but not limited to the following)
- Attend onboarding and offboarding sessions.
- Provide matchday and fan experience support.
- Assist Marketing Managers and Coordinators with the development and execution of promotional campaigns.
- Offer administrative support, including managing departmental emails and coordinating internal meetings.
- Support event operations for both on and off-site activations.
- Represent D.C. United in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Actively participate in the D.C. United Internship Cohort program.
- Pursue continued professional development throughout the internship.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must pass background check
- Must be an active undergraduate or graduate student eligible to receive college credit for the internship as this is an unpaid opportunity.
- Available to dedicate up to 25 hours per week from February – May 2026.
- Willingness to work matchdays, weekends, and/or evenings.
- Prior experience in sports or related fields is a plus.
- Coachable, hardworking, and able to multitask with a positive attitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff, partners, and fans.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear and professional communication abilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus, but not required.
