The temporary Development Coordinator will assist with gift processing and fundraising administration related to donor appeal campaigns and the annual fundraising reception (Presidents Reception). This role will assist in coordinating donor stewardship, producing and mailing gift acknowledgments, grants management, and supporting the Development Team with various administrative duties. This is a temporary position expected to last six months.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Reviews gifts made online and those entered by Membership to confirm accurate coding, to ensure proper stewardship and recognition, and to remove duplicate records.
  • Prepares donor and prospect mail and email lists and reports on various fundraising efforts and department expenses.
  • Processes contributions received in-house, by ACH, and through third-party payment processors.
  • Utilizes CRM to send timely gift and pledge acknowledgements, pledge reminders, notifications of tributes, impact reports, and other pertinent stewardship items.
  • Sets up and updates automated acknowledgement emails for online donations.
  • Inputs guest names and contact information for Presidents Reception, records attendance in donor CRM, and attends the event as an ambassador for the PBC.
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for general inquiries. Follows up on Presidents Reception invitations to and recognition for individual ticket purchases or supporters and attends Pro Bono Center or D.C. Bar events to cultivate existing donors and identify new prospects.
  • Drafts and designs personalized and segmented direct mail to retain current donors, reengage lapsed supporters, and acquire new supporters as well as engage affinity groups.
  • Develops digital content in coordination with the mail and for separate online fundraisers, including the annual Bar Membership renewal process.
  • Manage a portfolio of active grants, tracking deadlines and relevant deliverables to ensure timely submission.
  • Monitor grant expenditures, key organizational or program milestones, compliance with grant requirements, and adherence to budget guidelines.
  • Creates content for various stewardships, including donor acknowledgments and recognition, bulk updates, and impact reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Familiarity with coding revenue and expenses, and processing invoices.
  • Strong organization and project management skills as well as experience working with vendors and donors.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and deadline-driven. Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must work well in a team environment and be able to interact, including in-person, with Bar members, volunteers, vendors, the public, and Pro Bono Center and Bar employees.
  • Must work well under pressure, possess excellent organizational abilities, and be able to manage several priorities in a day.
  • Must be adaptable, creative, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Prior fundraising experience.
  • Experience with Nimble AMS or similar system.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite.

This position is currently a hybrid position, with days worked in the office and days worked remotely. The hybrid status of this position may change at any time subject to the Pro Bono Center’s discretion.
