What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworkers & Laborers, Crop, Nursery, Greenhouse position at D Bar Farms LLC?
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties, with minimum supervision, found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse such as: Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops including working with bins, augers, sweep floors; Clean, repair, wash and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as front end loader, combine, cotton picker, baler, rake, cutter, grain cart, planter, ripper, cultivator, sprayer, peanut harvester, tedder, disc, bulldozer, excavator, backhoe, dumptruck, forklift, bush hog, spreader buggy to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, cotton, hay peanuts; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping including performing road maintenance and land forming as well as mowing, trimming and/or spraying; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Cover equipment; Move dirt to control drainage; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements; Use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, bungee cords, air pressure gauges and pumps, grease guns, hydraulic, air and manual jacks, chains, ratchet straps, knives, machete, hoe, shovel, rake, chainsaw, limb saws, files, air wrenches; Attend to live farm, ranch animals including cattle by feeding, watering, herding, processing, sorting, etc.; Handle greasy and dirty equipment and stand or lie in uncomfortable positions; Clear and clean land for production including manually removing small sticks and rocks from the field; Assist in the cultivation of small acreage garden crops. Must be able to speak and understand English.
