Overview:
We are a family-owned company looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Operations Analyst to support our day-to-day accounting functions while helping us improve how we work. This role is a mix of hands-on accounting and process improvement, ideal for someone who understands accounting basics and enjoys finding better, more efficient ways to get things done.
You’ll play a key role in keeping our financial processes accurate, organized, and running smoothly, while also helping us identify opportunities to simplify and improve our workflows over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and reconcile vendor invoices and customer billing accurately and timely
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including resolving discrepancies and deductions
- Review current accounting processes and suggest practical improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Help implement process updates and maintain clear, organized procedures
- Prepare and share reports as needed, flagging any issues or trends
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and files
- Ensure compliance with company policies and basic accounting standards
- Work with other departments to improve communication and streamline workflows
- Assist with month-end tasks and other accounting-related projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP understanding is a plus)
- Experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to spot inefficiencies and suggest improvements
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Comfortable learning new systems and processes
- Team-oriented with a positive, hands-on attitude

Work Environment & Schedule:
Location: Westland, MI (On-site)
This role requires flexibility to support business operations. The standard schedule is 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with a rotating shift of 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM every third week. Occasional weekend availability may be needed.
