We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, and other construction machinery.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems on various OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) equipment.
- Maintain and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, air brakes, HVAC systems, and steering components.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs efficiently.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure equipment longevity.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, tire service, alignment checks, and equipment servicing to minimize downtime.
- Assist in heavy lifting operations when required and ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, automotive diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, schematics reading, diesel engine repair, HVAC systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate equipment such as cranes or forklifts.
- Knowledge of OEM parts and systems for Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu or similar brands is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members.
