Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our growing medical device organization. This role will be responsible for managing cost accounting functions within a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, deep manufacturing experience, and a CPA license. This is a hybrid role with 4 days onsite required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocations.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve profitability.
- Partner with operations to monitor production costs, inventory levels, and efficiencies.
- Maintain and update standard costs and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory and cost-related journal entries.
- Support financial close processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
- Support audits and provide required documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements related to cost accounting.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA license required.
- 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device or regulated industry preferred).
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of GAAP.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience supporting audits in a regulated industry.
Salary : $115,000 - $125,000
