What you’ll do
The Design Drafter will be a member of our team of manufacturing, utility, and facility engineers to support Cytiva’s production operations in Logan, Utah. The Logan site consists of production, warehouse/distribution, and administrative buildings (~200K ft2) This position will also play a key role in design, engineering, maintenance, and planning of manufacturing facility expansions related to the Logan site.
Provide Drafting Design support to engineering teams for the installation, operation, and upgrade of critical utility systems (HVAC, steam, chilled water, process water/WFI, compressed gases, electrical systems, and refrigeration) used in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products.
Assist Facilities and Manufacturing Engineering in design and development.
Perform the drafting and documentation creation of drawings and specifications for products and components used in customer applications and production.
Assists in testing and reviewing of design prototypes and to monitor and make recommendations. to reduce stranded inventory items.
Support and maintain the engineering drawing management system to ensure proper documentation of all plant systems and equipment.
Actively engage and support design drafting engineering priorities in response to manufacturing and plant priorities related to safety, quality, production, and cost/efficiency.
Ensure that engineering design drafting support is performed in compliance with cGMP Regulations and Company Policies/Procedures.
Lead or participate in various process improvement projects. Drive continuous improvement (LEAN) initiatives through application of sound design drafting, engineering, and reliability program elements and a data driven approach.
Closely partner with Maintenance, Facilities, Manufacturing, and Automation Engineering in the planning and execution of capital expansion and improvement projects.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and EHS to track and manage design drawings.
Participate in Basis of Design and planning meetings related to the Cytiva Site Master plan.
This position must comply with all Security guidelines, Environmental Health and Safety regulations and the current Good Manufacturing Practices required by the job function.
Actively engage with external engineer service providers to ensure designs meet requirements and fitness for use.
Who you are
High School/GED and Certifications in Design/Drafting) or equivalent experience.
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point.
Experienced in the use of PDM, Solid Works, Autocad, and other modeling and design software.
Five to Ten years of experience in drafting and design desired.
Pharmaceutical (cGMP) industry experience desired.
Strong customer service and problem-solving aptitude.
Good organizational skills
Ability to handle stressful deadline situations
Demonstrated ability to review designs and understand applications for specification creation and drafting
Demonstrate collaboration, negotiation & conflict resolution skills.
Basic understanding of building automation systems and utility system sequence of operations.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written (English).
Knowledge of cGMP’s, SOP’s, Federal and local regulatory requirements.
