Assistant Technical Designer
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Assistant Technical Designer to support the Technical Design team in the development and production of multiple categories and divisions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and maintaining production tech packs, including measurements, construction details, and grading.
- Support fit sessions by preparing samples and processing fit comments.
- Measure fit, pre-production, and top of production samples to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
- Communicate fit corrections and construction revisions to overseas factories and vendors.
- Track sample status and manage timelines to meet development and production calendars.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design and Sales teams.
- Organize, box, and file samples for the season.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelors degree in Technical Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years’ experience in technical design, preferably in knitwear or sweaters.
- Strong ability to measure garments quickly and accurately.
- A basic understanding of sweater construction, knit structures, and yarn properties.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret spec sheets and grading rules.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
