Project Overview
Cyrtan Energy is seeking a technical Emissions Consultant to lead a specialized combustion and stack emission test for our 250kW Biomass Gasifier. This project focuses on validating the efficiency and compliance of the system while processing challenging feedstocks, specifically treated rail ties and industrial paper sludge.
Scope of Consultant Responsibilities
- Onsite Testing Lead: Execute three formal test runs at 90% capacity (225kW) to evaluate gasification efficiency and thermal output.
- Emissions Validation: Utilize isokinetic sampling and gas analyzers to measure and record concentrations of PM, NOx, SO2, CO, and VOCs.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all outputs meet the < 50 ppm standard and maintain "smokeless/odorless" operation.
- Technical Reporting: Provide a concise Certified Performance Summary including data corrections (O2/CO2 dilution) and O&M recommendations for these specific waste streams.
Consultant Requirements
- Background: Current enrollment in a Graduate Engineering program or Advanced degree (Master’s/PhD candidate or graduate) in Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
- Expertise: Proven experience with EPA Reference Methods and hands-on proficiency with gas chromatography and emission analyzers.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with NFPA dust prevention standards and local PA environmental regulations.
Terms & Logistics
- Equipment/Access: Cyrtan Energy will provide full site access and the necessary generator equipment.
- Insurance/Liability: Work will be conducted under a "Knock-for-Knock" Mutual Indemnification agreement (standard industry terms).
- Deliverables: The flat fee is payable upon the completion of the test day and submission of the brief performance summary.
