About The Role

We are looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing go-to-market team, based in either Los Angeles or NYC. You will be responsible for generating and qualifying pipeline by engaging with R&D, innovation, and IP leaders at enterprise organizations.

This role is highly strategic and requires the ability to break into complex organizations, spark interest in a technical product, and clearly communicate Cypris’ value. You will work closely with Account Executives to build pipeline, refine messaging, and create new opportunities across target accounts.


Responsibilities

  • Generate new pipeline through outbound prospecting across phone, email, and LinkedIn
  • Research and identify high-potential accounts within target industries and ICPs
  • Run structured outbound campaigns to engage R&D, innovation, and IP leaders
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads to determine fit, timing, and opportunity potential
  • Schedule and coordinate discovery calls and product demos for Account Executives
  • Develop personalized messaging that connects Cypris capabilities to customer workflows
  • Maintain accurate activity tracking and lead management within Salesforce
  • Partner closely with AEs to align on account strategy and pipeline progression
  • Continuously test and iterate on outreach strategies to improve conversion rates
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitors, and industry developments to strengthen outreach


Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or similar outbound sales role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Experience with outbound prospecting tools and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to quickly learn and articulate complex, technical concepts
  • Self-starter with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Must be based in NYC or Los Angeles and willing to work in an office


Nice to Have

  • Experience prospecting into enterprise or technical buyers
  • Familiarity with AI, data platforms, or research tools
  • Exposure to industries such as chemicals, materials science, pharma, or manufacturing
  • Background working in a high-growth startup environment
