Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in MA.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; cardiology, critical care, or emergency nursing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and triage skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in use of electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient triage (telephone and in-office) by assessing symptoms, reviewing medical history, and determining the urgency of care needs.
- Collaborate with providers to prioritize patient care needs and facilitate timely appointments, referrals, and interventions.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccinations as ordered.
- Perform and assist with diagnostic procedures (e.g., EKGs, stress testing, Holter monitoring) and interpret preliminary results per practice protocols.
- Provide patient education on cardiovascular conditions, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and self-care.
- Review test results and communicate provider recommendations to patients.
- Coordinate pre- and post-procedure care, ensuring patient understanding of instructions and follow-up.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient communications accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Support providers with clinic flow, ensuring efficient and patient-centered care.
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Outpatient cardiology clinic setting.
- Regular interaction with patients, families, providers, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Occasional requirement to assist with urgent situations or rapid response within the clinic.
- Occasional lifting of 30-35 lbs and turning patients.
- Prolonged standing and walking.
- Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, and squatting.
