We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Warehouse Specialist to support operations at our Grand Forks, ND railcar repair facility. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, organizing warehouse operations, receiving and issuing materials, and ensuring technicians have the parts and supplies needed to keep customer railcars moving safely and efficiently.

M-TH, 6AM-4:30 (some Fridays and weekends may be mandatory depending on business needs)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receiving and inspecting railcar parts and repair materials: Unload incoming components (e.g., wheels, axles, brake assemblies), verify shipping documents, inspect for damage, and store in repair-specific inventory locations.
- Order fulfillment for maintenance operations: Pick, pack, label, and prepare materials and parts for maintenance crews according to repair schedules and service orders.
- Equipment operation: Safely operate forklifts, hoists, pallet jacks, or rail-side cranes to move heavy railcar components like bogies, couplers, or structural panels.
- Safety compliance in maintenance yards: Adhere to strict safety protocols including PPE.
- Coordination with maintenance and repair teams: Communicate closely with repair crews, buyer, and manager to prioritize critical repairs and ensure timely parts delivery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Assist with material transfers between facilities and departments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and warehouse procedures.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous warehouse, inventory, receiving, shipping, or materials management experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory or ERP systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, railcar, automotive, or heavy equipment environments is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday.
- Work in a warehouse and industrial shop environment.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
