Responsibilities
- Establish and implement the overall design strategy for digital products and websites.
- Define and optimize design processes and tools.
- Lead UX design activities on initiatives from beginning to end for digital products and websites balancing multiple product needs at once.
- Understand and advocate for client and end-user needs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to help define business and feature requirements, user scenarios, and use cases.
- Create UX and design assets including process flows, site amps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and mockups to effectively communicate high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviours.
- Present design solutions in ways that communicate the value of design decisions.
- Work closely with product stakeholders to ensure a full understanding of the product team's needs and priorities.
- Provide design leadership to technical teams.
- Work within project timelines, and deliver design assets to support product roadmap.
- Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
- Key skills include proficiency in design software (such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD), strong problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of information architecture and interaction design.
- UI/UX Designer with 3-5 years of experience designing complex digital products, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end user-centered design processes from research through implementation. Strong skills in instructional design desired in addition to traditional UI/UX.
- Experience in regulated industries preferred, particularly medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, or other safety-critical environments where usability, risk mitigation, and compliance are important.
- User research and human factors interests and skills, including ability to support user interviews, usability testing, task analysis, and translating insights into intuitive interfaces for diverse user groups.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary team, including researchers, and wide variety of clients including engineers, product managers, clinical experts, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Interest in healthcare or medical technology, with a passion for improving patient, clinician, or healthcare professional experiences through thoughtful, evidence-based design. Experience with FDA-regulated products, IEC 62366 usability engineering, human factors engineering, clinical workflows, or medical device software (SaMD).
- $60-70/hr (W2/Non-Exempt)
