Location: Nashville, TN (Preferred) or New York City, NY (5 days a week onsite)
Work Arrangement: Onsite 5 days per week
Travel: Occasional domestic travel to key office locations and possible travel to Budapest
Schedule: Typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Flexibility required to support global team members across time zones.
Position Overview
Our global Procure-to-Pay organization processes high volumes of payments across multiple business units and geographies and is undertaking a major ERP consolidation to unify operations on a single platform.
We are seeking an experienced Director or VP-level Disbursements Lead to stabilize and optimize global payment operations during a critical ERP consolidation initiative. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payment execution across multiple ERP platforms while the organization migrates to a single ERP system over the next nine months.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in payment processing, disbursement controls, banking and treasury integration, Oracle Fusion Payments, and cross-functional problem solving within a large global enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Operations & Execution
- Oversee end-to-end disbursement operations including payment runs, ACH, wire transfers, check processing, direct debits, and virtual card payments across multiple ERP environments
- Ensure accurate and timely payment execution aligned with vendor payment terms, cash flow objectives, and internal controls
- Manage payment exception queues, payment holds, and failed payment resolution while driving root cause analysis and systemic fixes
- Partner with Treasury, Banking, and Finance teams to manage payment file transmissions, bank connectivity, and electronic payment requirements
- Oversee year-end 1099 reporting and tax-withholding requirements for disbursements
ERP Migration & Systems
- Serve as the disbursements subject matter expert for ERP consolidation activities
- Represent global payment processing requirements in system design, configuration, integration testing, and go-live readiness
- Oversee payment-related integrations between legacy ERPs, Oracle Fusion, banking systems, and third-party payment providers
- Identify and resolve payment-related integration gaps, configuration issues, and bank connectivity challenges
- Lead post-go-live stabilization activities
Controls, Compliance & Risk
- Establish and enforce disbursement controls, segregation of duties, and positive pay processes
- Ensure SOX compliance across payment operations
- Support fraud prevention controls including bank account validation, duplicate payment detection, and OFAC screening
- Partner with audit and compliance teams to remediate control deficiencies
Aged & Delinquent Payment Resolution
- Own resolution of delinquent and aged payment issues across business units
- Conduct structured root cause analysis on recurring payment failures and processing issues
- Partner with Vendor Onboarding, Invoicing, and business stakeholders to resolve upstream issues
- Deliver leadership reporting on delinquent payment trends and remediation progress
Reporting, Dashboards & Continuous Improvement
- Define and monitor key disbursement KPIs
- Design executive dashboards focused on payment status, aging, compliance, and operational performance
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities
- Maintain and improve SOPs and training documentation
Team Leadership
- Lead globally distributed teams across Nashville, Budapest, and other locations
- Drive accountability, performance management, and capability development
- Foster a culture focused on controls, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 10 years of progressive AP/PTP experience focused on disbursements and payment operations
- Minimum 4 years in a Director-level or VP-level leadership role
- Hands-on Oracle Fusion Payments module experience
- Experience managing payment operations across multiple ERP platforms simultaneously
- Deep expertise with ACH, wire, check, virtual card payments, bank connectivity, and payment file formats
- Strong understanding of disbursement controls, SOX compliance, and fraud prevention
- ERP migration experience from a payments perspective
- Experience leading large global teams
- Strong analytical, root cause analysis, and executive communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERS (Evaluated Receipt Settlement)
- Treasury Management Systems (TMS) experience
- Banking portal integration experience
- Knowledge of global payment regulations and cross-border payments
- Media, entertainment, or large enterprise background
- Global shared services or GBS experience
Compensation
- Nashville, TN: $62.76 - $67.76/hr.
- New York City, NY: $82.49 - $87.49/hr
