Medical Front Desk Specialist

Job Summary
We are a growing medical office looking for a professional, highly trainable front desk personnel who can also support back office work when needed. The right candidate must be customer service oriented, friendly, outgoing, and a team player willing to go the extra step to get the job done. We are looking for someone who can think on their feet, handle a fast paced environment, complete tasks independently, and be willing and able to quickly learn new things and take direction. Experience is of course helpful but we provide full training for this position. We reward hard work!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Greeting patients and assisting with the check in/check out process
• Collecting payments
• Answering/making phone calls/taking messages and notes
• Verifying patient insurance information, handling prior authorizations, and ensuring correctly noted in system
• Proper documentation of correspondence with payers
• Surgical Coordination
• Refunds and recoupment protocols
• Adjustments and balance transfers
• Providing back office coverage when needed, which requires learning back office as well

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Front Desk Agent or in a similar role is preferred; experience as a Medical Receptionist is a plus.
• Customer Service experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in data entry and familiar with office software applications.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
• A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
