QUALIFICATIONS:

- Valid Texas administrator’s/principal certification;
- Minimum of four (4) years of successful experience as a math classroom teacher;
- Preference given to applicants with experience in secondary math;

Probationary/Term Contract: 220 days
SALARY:
$76,684/IA-4
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate the development, review, and update of secondary math programs and related curriculum documents and materials, including curriculum guides, course outlines, scopes and sequences, and grading plans.
- Work cooperatively with campus principals and curriculum and instruction department members in developing and supervising the secondary math instructional programs.
- Work with teacher committees to determine priority objectives in math.
- Work with appropriate instructional personnel to establish district standards for acceptable levels of student achievement in secondary math.
- Obtain and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to examine curriculum and instruction program effectiveness for secondary math.
- Provide training for teachers in areas related to improving student learning.
- Plan and provide staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff in secondary math.
- Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
- Participate in the purchase, use, care, and replacement of materials.
- Assist with the adoption of textbooks in secondary math courses.
- Review, recommend, and incorporate technology tools to support math instruction.
- Collaborate with the office of Advanced Academics to support CARE Academy and Advanced Placement courses.
- Collaborate with the office of Advanced Academics and Lone Star College to support dual credit math opportunities for students.
- Coordinate the development of materials and support the facilitation of summer school math courses and camps and middle school acceleration courses.
- Participate actively in professional math leader/teacher associations and encourage participation of other math teachers.
- Supervise secondary math coaches and instructional specialists.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Directors of HS and MS Curriculum and Instruction.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
