Position Summary
Job Duties
- Completes patient admissions process, including nursing assessment.
- Documents ongoing patient assessments/progress clearly and concisely as required by hospital and regulatory agency standards.
- Medication management – administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a physician.
- Participates as member of interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Ensures nursing interventions.
- Provides milieu management and unit team leadership.
- Provides appropriate nursing intervention/documentation in crisis situations.
- Reports unsafe conditions.
- Provides age-specific communication, limit setting and interventions.
- Provides health education to patients and their families.
- Prepares and adheres to facility patient discharge process.
- Interacts with patients and staff in professional manner, promotes teamwork and demonstrates Service Excellence
- Attends mandatory staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas (or licensed in a compact state).
- One-year psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
- CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications which can be obtained during orientation.
- Must be able to complete new hire requirements such as a nationwide background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- State and Federal Office of the Inspector General check.
